Piazza Venezia

This piazza takes its name from Palazzo Venezia, built by Pope Paul II in 1455, while he was still a cardinal.
The construction of the Victor Emanuel Monument entailed a complex rearrangement of the piazza; Palazzetto Venezia was moved, and the Palazzo delle Assicurazioni Generali di Venezia was built.
