Piazza Colonna

Situated midway down the Via del Corso is the Column of Marcus Aurelius, which has given the name to this piazza. This column was erected by the Senate of Rome in memory of Emperor Marcus Aurelius.
Facing onto the piazza is the seat of the Office of the Prime Minister of the Italian Republic, and behind it is Palazzo Montecitorio, the seat of the Italian Parliament.
Also of interest is the architecture of the Galleria Colonna, situated across the Corso from the piazza.
